Important Ordering Information
Control cables are sold individually.
Most mechanical remote-control installations require two control cables: one for throttle operation and one for shift operation.
If you need both throttle and shift cables, select the correct cable length and order a quantity of 2.
How to Measure for Suzuki Control Cables
Choosing the correct control cable length is important for smooth throttle and shift operation and proper engine movement.
Replacing Existing Cables:
Check the outer jacket of your existing control cable for a printed or stamped length marking. If the existing cables are routed correctly and operate properly, ordering the same length is usually the simplest replacement method.
Measuring for a New Installation:
Measure from the location where you control box is mounted back to the corner of the boat. Then measure from the corner of the boat over to the engine. Add the measurements together then add an additional 2 feet.
- Control box to corner + corner to engine + 2 additional fee. (The additional length will give you some extra room in case adjustments are needed later on like adding a jack plate. It will not affect the performance of the cables.)
