Most installations require two control cables: one cable for throttle operation and one cable for shift operation.
The correct control cable length depends on the size of your boat, control box location, cable routing, and distance from the control box to the outboard. When measuring for cables, measure from the location of your control box to the back corner of the boat; then from the corner of the boat to the engine and add 2 feet.
Control Box to Corner + Corner to engine + 2 feet = Needed Cable Length
